Apple has been forced to ditch the Lightning port and switch to USB-C for charging across all of its products. But there’s another way to charge the batteries of recent iPhones, thanks to MagSafe. The company recently launched a new, more powerful MagSafe charger that’s seen its price drop during a Black Friday deal. It’s down from $39 to $25.
The latest MagSafe charger was introduced alongside the iPhone 16 lineup this fall. When used with an adapter that supports 30W or more of power, the charger reaches speeds of up to 25W with the iPhone 16 (charging speeds on older iPhones still max out at 15W).
As you might imagine, the charger can charge the iPhone 16 much faster than previous versions. According to Apple, when used with a 30W USB‑C power adapter, it can charge an iPhone 16 or iPhone 16 Pro up to 50 percent in 30 minutes. Meanwhile, since the charger is Qi compatible, it can also charge iPhone 8 or later models, as well as AirPods with a wireless charging case.
The MagSafe charger is one of the most useful iPhone accessories. This version has a 1 meter (3.3 ft) cable. Another model, which has a 2 meter (6.6 ft) cable, is also on sale. Its price is down from $49 to $34.
